Did you gett NOTHING for Father’s Day and just turned up with a smile and a six-pack of bog standard beer? If so, consider offering a little delayed gratification.
Allow us to introduce you to Sirromet wines Le Sauvage Pinot Noir. This is a lovely drop and you can either order it to be posted directly to your Dad or just get a gift voucher online and present it to him next time you catch up.
Here at Title, we love Pinot and this one is a cracker.
“This 2014 Pinot Noir was sourced from bock 45 of our Seven Scenes vineyard, at 800m evelation,” says the website.
“The hand-picked fruit was gently crushed and cold soaked for 48 hours before a slow wild fermentation, to express the individual terroir of the vineyard. Hand plunged to protect the delicate Pinot characters, the wine was basket-ressed and then aged in French Oak sur lie for 4 months. Pretty wild strawberry notes with some savoury tomato and funky spice. We only make table Pinot Noir in exceptional vintages – we hope you enjoy.”
What else is there to say? If you drink enough, it will make you tipsy – and there’s always a danger of that because it tastes so damn good. At $89 it’s a bit more exxy than your average quaffing wine, but isn’t your Dad worth it? OK, even if he isn’t, make him feel like he is and he might pour you a glass.
