111 Castlereagh is an extraordinary building design with the original 1938 art deco David Jones façade retained, but carved up internally with a new central atrium and topped with a residential tower. 

In form the new tower appears as a suspended, curvilinear object, hovering above a podium on the heritage building below, complementing its art deco curves but undoubtedly futuristic in its presentation. 

The eastern elevation of the tower captures exceptional views of  the Hyde Park canopies and beyond to Sydney Harbour.

The heritage of the old David Jones building will house both retail and commercial office space. The residential tower (levels 14-34) comprises 101 residencies including spectacular penthouses, two levels of rooftop gardens and a host of residential amenities.

These are very reflective of changing times and concepts of community living.  A concierge service, communal function space, BBQ facilities and terrace, gym and pool are integral, but so too is a private dining room with terrace, a climate controlled wine cellar, quite outdoor reading space and yoga deck.

The historic architectural features in the podium levels will be preserved and enhanced – including Art Deco details within lobbies. There will also be an emphasis in creating luxury, through craftsmanship, materials and high concept contemporary design.
