Those familiar with life on in transit will grow accustomed to the sterile world of hotel living. Jumping from plane to board room and back again means the luxuries of homely bed tend to go unrealized. For the most part, hotels are the clean and convenient option for weary travelling professionals.
But, the Amsterdam-born Zoku is turning this all on its head. This design team wanted to create an inspiring experience for their customers, developing a clever home/office hybrid space to suit those needing a place to live, work and play away from home.
Set to open their first prototype hotel in Amsterdam next month, a stay here provides far more than your average fly-in accommodation. There’s a huge choice of room sizes, from a cozy bunk to spacious studio loft, plus an abundance of communal social spaces and meeting rooms (designed to replicate the atmosphere of creative offices). Throw in printing and binding stations, handy housekeeping and dry cleaning services, flipchart projectors for collaborative meetings and late checkout times, Zoku appears to be a game changer in the hotel industry.
